Wind and the woods

As we all know it has been just too windy to be safely out there playing in the woods these last few days.

We started our week by cancelling a session, then going to assess the woodland for next week. We had to turn back, as a fallen tree had closed the road.

Our after school club went to plan b). We designed and made kites inside, then took them out to the croft for a maiden launch. The children had a brilliant time and were very impressed that their quickly made (and quite flimsy) kites flew with such aerobatic skill!

There was lots fun to be had spinning and laughing and tangling and running around in the breeze. And we saw the beautiful sky with crepuscular rays beaming though the clouds.

Despite the weather, or because of it… a great afternoon!
