The summer solstice and mid summers day came and went with the rain and the cold! We heard that this year, the winter solstice had higher temperatures that this week! Despite the unseasonal outlook, there was much engagement and fun to be had on the day with the most hours of light this year.
Puddle jumping, mud and wet play took a strong role this week! The stream was flowing again and the children spent time following it down to the hole where is disappears underground and experimenting with floating grasses, acorn cups and rafts down the length of its flow.
The children then spent time creating with paint on blackberry died fabric and adding to the woodland weaving.
