The children took the trolley for an amble through the woods to collect wood for a fire. We all got distracted along the way, climbing some trees. The children then built a few dens with some of their haul. They had a bit of time hanging out in hammocks. After lighting fires, once the fire was hot enough, they toasted their lunchtime sandwiches. Then it was all about digging. The children dug down so far, they found clay. So they worked out how to crumble it and mix it with water, and created their own clay to model with. There were hedgehogs, rainbows, balls, donuts and a meerkat. There was just time to dry and bake them hard on the fire, and talk through the best bits of the day, before heading back off up the hill to the sunshine.
